INDIANAPOLIS — Children who visit Santa Claus at Simon Property Group's shopping malls this holiday season will receive free gifts courtesy of Hasbro. The promotion runs from mid-November through Dec. 24 and offers not only a free gift to children, while supplies last, but also gives their parents free coupons good for Hasbro toys and games.
Beyond the free toy giveaway, Hasbro's deal with Simon also allows it to hold toy demonstrations at select Simon shopping malls. The toymaker plans to demo products such as its Furreal Friends interactive plush, Tonka R/C Bobble Boys ATV, Playskool Airtivity Table and Milton Bradley's Old MacDonald Had A Farm game.
"We saw this opportunity as a terrific way to further interact with children and their parents during the holiday shopping season," said Desiree Paquette, Hasbro's senior vice president of integrated marketing and trade services. "Simon malls are a leading family destination and we are happy to be able to offer added fun while kids wait on line for Santa Claus."
Simon Property Group owns or has an interest in nearly 250 regional malls and community shopping centers. Hasbro's deal was negotiated through the real estate firm's Simon Brand Ventures unit.
