Caribbean Playground, Putumayo Kids, N.Y., is a fun, festive catalogue of songs that should get children grooving. Parents will enjoy the nice change of pace from the usual children's nursery rhymes. A booklet enclosed with the CD is written in English, Spanish and French, providing song descriptions and cultural information.
Justin Roberts, Way Out, Evanston, Ill., is a rockin' CD. The songs deal with issues that kids face like helping feed their younger siblings, going to day camp, doctor visits, picture day at school, etc. All the lyrics are funny and very catchy to listen to. It's a fun CD that will get kids moving and singing along.
Beethoven Lives Upstairs, Classical Kids, Ontario, is a CD designed to help teachers educate kids about Beethoven. The fictitious narrator Christoph writes letters to his uncle telling him about the “madman” living upstairs, Beethoven. His uncle responds to him in kind and interwoven amidst the story are some of Beethoven's classics. This is an informative, interesting and fun way to get kids introduced and perhaps even interested in Beethoven. Teachers and parents alike will enjoy this.
