Jump and Jive with Hi-5, Koch Records, New York, is a CD full of music to get children moving and playing along with the Hi-5 group. Songs like “Ready or Not” and “Move Your Body” are designed to get kids playing and moving around the room. There are also 9 karaoke tracks so kids can sing along. This could be a good party CD for kids ages 2 to 8.
Jessica Harper's, Hey Picasso, Los Angeles, has music on it inspired from some of the world's most famous paintings. In the booklet that comes with the CD are reproductions of paintings like Starry Night and Picasso's Self Portrait with a Pallette and along with it are the lyrics to the up beat song that goes with it. Kids will enjoy the paintings and parents can explain the artwork to them as they all listen along to the music.
Bee Positive, David Hall, Portland, Ore., is a fun and funny CD designed to get kids singing along, moving along and thinking. The song “Wiggle Your Wiggle” gets kids to listen carefully to the song so they can move the right body part, and “What Am I?” will have them guessing at what's being sung about. It's not just a music CD but an activity.
