Her Interactive, Bellevue, Wash., makes games based on the Nancy Drew series of novels. The games are designed for girl and women gamers. In the latest release and 11th in the series, Nancy Drew: Curse of Blackmoor Manor, rated E for the PC, players have to solve why Linda Penvellyn, your neighbor's daughter and newlywed wife of a British diplomat, is hiding from something or someone. Players have to use problem-solving skills and gather the clues to solve the mystery.
Capcom, Sunnyvale, Calif., is getting into online role-playing with Monster Hunter rated T. In Monster Hunter for the PlayStation 2, teams of up to four players must work together in order to trap monsters or distract them while another team member steals an item from the creature. Both parents and kids will be entertained by this.
