Into the dark world of toys

By Staff -- Playthings, 10/1/2005

Jack lowers his eyes and marches towards the foulthing, the bells of his cap jangling.

This is a scene from the new, 160-page illustrated novel, The Plucker, from famed fantasy and horror artist, Brom. The dark fairytale includes more than 100 original paintings by the artist.

In the Plucker, the plucker is a spirit looking for a soul. When it escapes into the underworld of aone child's room, it takes over the world of his toys. Snow Angel, monkey and nutcracker are some of the only toys left in Thomas' world, including one toy that has been cast aside, or under the bed, Jack in the box. Jack has to fight and the evil plucker and his foul followers and save the soul of young Thomas.
