From arcade to toys to...

Some video games have lasting power while others get lost in time. When Street Fighter first burst on the scene in 1987, all game controllers were on. Ryu and Ken were battling it out with the world's best brawlers.
Street Fighter quickly moved from the arcades to console, direct-to-video and even the the big screen! Today, and many games later, Street Fighter is a classic for kids of the late '80s, early '90s.
And more figures, books, apparel and games will be available throughout 2006. In February, Sota Toys, Van Nuys, Calif., releases series 4 of Street Fighter figures; the series includes characters Akuma, Ibuki, Fei Long, Birdie and Remy. Series 5, scheduled for release in July, will feature Zangief, Rolento, Juni/Juli, Dee jay and Guy.
Also in first quarter 2006, an exclusive Chun Li figure, Takara, Tokyo, will be distributed by Diamond Comic Distributors, New York, in the United States only. The 4-inch figure comes in red-style costume with 30 points of articulation and is packaged with authentic, molded costumes, weapons, accessories and variant hands.
In addition to the huge list of product opportunities, Ultracade, San Jose, Calif., will have a Street Fighter Anniversary Edition arcade game featuring eight games in one system. The price is steep at $3,995, yet priceless for the collector.
