A new horizon of sci-fi product

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Star Trek this year, Diamond Select Toys, Timonium, Md., will release replica-like products based around the property's many incarnations. A bronze-handled phaser, a line of resin statues, and basic action figures of Riker and Worf are scheduled for release in this year. A model of the U.S.S. Enterprise will also be available. In addition to the Star Trek line, Diamond Select will also launch figures modeled after the longest running sci-fi series on TV, Stargate. In the Stargate line are figures of Snakehead and Dr. Jackson, as well as a Stargate.
Gentle Giant, Burbank, Calif., will add to its line of Star Wars busts, mini statues, maquettes and figures this year. The maquettes—smaller, 3-D digitized models—will include characters from the Clone Wars. A Boba Fett statue and Series 6 busts are scheduled to hit shelves in May. Separately, various statues and busts for characters Morpheus, Neo, Trinity and Twins currently make up the Matrix line.
