A marvel at ThinkFun

There's a first for ThinkFun this year. The company behind mind-boggling games such as Rush Hour, Charoodles and Gordian's Knot, has entered into a multi-year licensing agreement with Marvel, New York. In its first licensing agreement, the Alexandria, Va.-based game maker will add classic Marvel Heroes to its original games, such as TipOver. Games will be targeted to specialty stores and select national accounts. Five launches are planned for May: Marvel Heroes Slide Puzzles, Spider-Man TipOver, City Crossing (with various Marvel figures), Hopper Heroes and Zingo Heroes, with more comic book character-based games in the fall.
“This is a great opportunity for ThinkFun to apply fun, engaging themes to some of our best-selling game platforms,” says Kevin Garton, vice president of sales and marketing for ThinkFun. “The combination of consumer awareness of characters such as Spider-Man with great learning games will be a valuable addition to retail assortments. It creates an opportunity for our retail partners to expand their sales of mind-challenging games to a broader audience.”
