Classic resurfaces

By Tina Benitez -- Playthings, 4/1/2006

Mole, Rat, Badger and Toad were all characters made up by Kenneth Grahame who would tell his son, Alastair, stories. Grahame later penned “The Wind in the Willows” in 1908 based on those tales.

Almost a century later, episodes from The Wind in the Willows stop-motion animated series have been released by A & E Home Video for the first time.

This year, a feature length direct-to-DVD film, A Tale of Two Toads, is the first new release for the classic property. The film follows the kidnapping of Toad while a Toad imposter and Weasel take over and devise a plan to drive away Badger, Rat and Mole forever.

A DVD two-pack of both feature length films, The Wind in the Willows and A Tale of Two Toads, will also be available from A & E to ship prior to Two Toad's September 26 release.
