A whole new TV set of characters

Watch television out of a baseball or an apple or a plush zebra—literally. New television sets from Hannspree, Taipei, Taiwan, are adorned with animated and plush characters, haute couture style and sports.
Major League Baseball sets include one shaped like a Yankees baseball with hand-stitched leather to replicate the look and feel of a baseball. Fantasy sets include apples, plush bunnies, lions and rhinos as well as fire trucks and animated characters like the Power Puff Girls and Taz.
Set in AmericaHannspree is entering the U.S. market with two new offices, in Mahwan, N.J. and Fremont, Calif. The company has additional licenses with the National Basketball Association, National Football League and Warner Bros.
Sets are available in Hannspree retail galleries in Beverly Hills, Calif. and San Francisco starting in September.
Sets can also be purchased online at www.hannspree.com beginning in October. Each TV set uses a flat-screen Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) for crystal-clear viewing. All sets retail for $449.99 to $1399.99.
