Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Warner Bros. Pictures, Legendary Pictures and the boutique shop Kitson recently hosted an exclusive unveiling of new Superman Returns apparel, accessories and fashion dolls at the Kitson shop in Beverly Hills, Calif. In conjunction with the launch, Kitson also kicked off a charity auction of 23 sets of the new Superman Returns Superman and Lois Lane dolls, designed and donated by Mattel and autographed by Returns stars Brandon Routh (Superman) and Kate Bosworth (Lois Lane). The auction took place on eBay using the eBay Giving Works program. Two sets of the dolls were also available for silent auction at Kitson during the event. The Superman Returns Superman and Lois Lane dolls also included a certificate of authenticity and an official mini-poster. Routh and Bosworth were on hand at the event to help celebrate the new product launch and the film, which opens in theaters nationwide June 30. All of the proceeds from the sale of the doll sets will be donated to the Christopher Reeve Foundation, an organization named for the actor who came to prominence playing the Man of Steel in the last series of Superman films more than 25 years ago...In other Superman news, collectors flew to eBay recently to bid on a 1954 Superman lunch box. A seller from Minneapolis received $4,649 for the rare collectible after a seven-day auction that ended with 18 bids. The seller found the lunch box many years ago at an antique mall.
