More Magic online
By Tina Benitez -- Playthings, 6/1/2006
Wizards of the Coast, Renton, Wash., is launching Magic Online III, the latest sequel to the online strategy trading card game this summer.
The game includes new features and flexibility of play for Magic veterans, giving them more control over game play. It also provides a smoother introduction for newcomers to the Magic: The Gathering experience.
In addition to its play mechanics, the look of the game has been revamped, with 3-D avatars and a card-zoom feature. Elements can be resized, repositioned or minimized giving players greater control of the look of the game.
A new 24-hour online mentor program will help new players through the initial stages of Magic by answering questions or providing a guided tour of the game.
Introduced in 2002, Magic Online now has 250,000 registered users, daily online events and more than two million matches each month.
