Les cardes
American writers who gathered in Paris in the 1920s and '30s were called?…True or false: Parisians consume an average of 45 pounds of cheese a year? These and other questions are part of the latest card game from San Francisco-based card game company, SmartsCo. ParisSmarts includes 60 question-and-answer cards, score pad and a 24-page Paris Discoveries pocket travel guide with off the beaten path suggestions such as where to go for a literary pilgrimage or finding an Australian pub in France's City of Light. Card categories include: Le Menu (food and wine), History, Off the Beaten Path and Culture. SRP $16.95.

The word is…
Some may be baffled, but all will gab. The Baffle Gab game from the company by the Seattle-based same name lets players
use their word smarts by creating a story out of five words. Each player has a minute to develop their story. If all words can be used, points are doubled. The game retails for $29.95 and is recommended for ages 8 and older. The game includes 300 word cards, 600 bone bucks, an hourglass timer, writing tablets, pencils, rules and example/fast start sheets.
