Strawberry Shortcake is the comeback kid. With a new toy line from Playmates, Costa Mesa, Calif., and an upcoming movie in the works, The Sweet Dreams Movie, where else can Strawberry go now but to video games?
In Sweet Dreams (Game Boy Advance), from Majesco, Edison, N.J., fans can help Strawberry save Strawberryland and beat the Purple Pieman. Players can watch clips from the movie and track collectibles...This December, Christopher Paolini's Eragon (Alfred Knopf) comes to the big screen with an extended licensing program from 20th Century Fox. Vivendi Universal Games, Los Angeles, will release games for all platforms with combat systems that let players use different attacks and defenses…Ubisoft, Paris, takes the Sony CGI film Open Season to all platforms this fall. Also in development is another Sony feature, Surf's Up, for next summer…This November, Midway, Chicago, translates Warner's animated feature Happy Feet. The game lets players experience life as a waddling penguin from birth to adolescence.
