Sega of America, San Francisco, has signed on to be the official publisher of Marvel's upcoming games based on three of its pending new films: The Incredible Hulk, which will be out this summer; Captain America; and Thor. Sega has also secured the likenesses and voices of Iron Man and Hulk stars Robert Downey Jr. and Edward Norton, respectively. The deal allows Sega to continue to produce games based on both characters whether or not there are sequels to the films … Games and game hardware sales are up. According to The NPD Group, Port Washington, N.Y., video game hardware and software sales increased by 33 percent in March to $1.1 billion, boosted by sales for Nintendo consoles. Software sales grew by 30 percent in the first quarter, while video games went up 54 percent to a total $3.3 billion for the first quarter. The NPD Group also reported that puzzles are the most popular mobile video game download.
