SEATTLE—Hidden City Games recently expanded its horse-themed trading card game, Bella Sara, with a limited edition series of highly collectible designs inspired by Norse and Celtic myths.
The Bella Sara Northern Lights set began appearing at mass retailers, including Toys "R" Us, Target and Wal-Mart, in mid-July, as well as in regional chains and toy, hobby and equestrian shops across North America. As with previously released Bella Sara trading cards, each horse card in the Northern Lights set will also unlock a corresponding virtual horse at the game's online virtual world at www.bellasara.com.
"The addition of Northern Lights to the Bella Sara trading card lineup provides us a great opportunity to share a rich base of Celtic and Norse history and storylines, adding an educational component to Bella Sara's already pro-social concept," said Peter Adkinson, Hidden City Games' CEO.
The Northern Lights set includes 72 cards, including 45 regular horse cards, 17 "extra rare" foil horse cards and 10 rare energy cards. The horses featured include Sleipnir, the Norse god Odin's eight-legged steed, and Embarr, the magical horse of a Celtic fairy princess. Cards are sold in five-card packs, each containing five randomly inserted horse and energy cards. The set's edition size was not announced.
