2007's end-of-year video game offerings have something for everyone, from fantasy worlds and Star Wars battles to famous princesses to golf games starring some seriously unlikely characters. Here are some hot new titles that will play out most prominently this holiday season.
Luck of the drawNeed a submarine to get to the island or a sled to get down the snowy hill? Draw it! In Drawn to Life, made exclusively for the Nintendo DS, players use a stylus to draw the necessary objects and characters needed to survive in dark forests, bustling cities and deserted islands. The game features a 25-color drawing palette, tracing templates, an eraser and three brush sizes. At retail in November. THQ
Regally yoursMake friends with Ariel, Jasmine, Snow White and Cinderella in Disney Princess: Enchanted Journey. Players create their own heroine avatars and venture through multiple levels of play across four worlds to help the princesses restore order in their individual kingdoms. Lego strikes backA compilation of two previous Star Wars Lego games will be available for the Wii, PS3, Xbox 360 and DS. In Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, players get both Lego Star Wars and Lego Star Wars II, plus new levels of play, including a high-speed chase for Zam Wessell from Episode II, new characters like Watto and Boss Nass, and upgraded character customizations. Fast food nationWhen Aqua Teen Hunger Force's Frylock gets accepted into a prestigious country club, Master Shake (a milk shake) and Meatwad join in on some high-action golfing and cart racing as they battle villains in Aqua Teen Hunger Force Zombie Ninja Pro-Am. The game is available solely for PlayStation 2; at retail in December. Midway Games
Going for the GoldenOnce New Line Cinema's The Golden Compass hits the big screen this December, fans will be able to continue the fantasy with Sega's The Golden Compass game. Players replicate heroine Lyra's journey to the icy North with the help of her polar bear protector, Iorek, as she tries to save her best friend and other kidnapped children from experiments by a mysterious organization. Along the way they'll use the truth-telling Alethiometer to solve puzzles, unlock bonus content and play mini games that offer useful tips about Lyra's journey. The game includes two extra worlds from the His Dark Materials trilogy not seen in the movie. At retail in December. Sega of America
