Obituary: Diane Cardinale, TIA

NEW YORK—Long time Toy Industry Association staffer Diane Cardinale passed away after a long illness on Dec. 8, 2007, the trade association announced today.
Cardinale, 54, was a TIA employee for 27 years. Primarily known for managing the press room at the American International Toy Fair, Cardinale was also TIA’s unofficial historian with a deep knowledge of the U.S. toy business’ “who’s who,” sales statistics, inventors, toy history, and similar details, according to the association.
She is survived by parents Elaine and Louis Cardinale; sisters Susan, Sheila (a Mattel employee) and Stephanie; and brother Jerry. She also leaves behind nieces Danelle, Kristen and Nicole, and nephews Russell, Daniel, Dean and Brandon.
