Inspired by an early Ray Charles record, Jazz & Swing for Kids takes well-known public doman children's songs and “a few more obscure poems” and puts them to tunes directly inspired by beloved jazz, blues and early rock 'n' roll performers. The first release in the new Genius + Love brand of children's music and books, it feaures versions of kid classics like “Skip to My Lou” performed in the style of blues great Lead Belly and a medley of Mother Goose rhymes that turns into an all-star jam ... Krazy Kuzins' It's A Kid's Thing is the follow up to Music World Entertainment's Kid's Rap Radio, a collection of cleaned-up rap songs performed by a quartet of children. It's just the thing for grown-up hip-hop fans looking to foster a love of the genre in their own kids without exposing them to too much real life too soon ... Jam band fans' favorite jazz trio, Medeski Martin & Wood, offer up their first all-ages adventure with Let's Go Everywhere, from Little Monster Records. It's a rollicking collection of happy, rousing tunes, some original, like “Pirates Don't Take Baths,” and others familiar children's songs played in new ways, such as “Pat A Cake” performed in a punk-rock style. There's even a song played entirely on a toy piano!
