BURBANK, Calif.—Zula USA has entered into a licensing partnership with Elmer’s Products for the creation of children’s science kits based on The Zula Patrol television series. It’s the first licensing deal for the property.
Launching in fall 2008, Elmer’s Products’ Zula Science Exploration Kits will encourage hands-on exploration of a science topic covered in a Zula Patrol episode. Further product details will be announced at Toy Fair next month.
“We’re delighted to be partnering with Elmer’s on the development of Zula-themed science kits,” said Dr. Deborah Manchester, creator of The Zula Patrol. “Elmer’s and Zula USA share a mission to encourage creative inquiry and help kids acquire critical thinking skills in an entertaining way. We’re also confident that their trusted name and established distribution channels provide a solid sales outlook for Zula Science Exploration Kits at retail.”
The Zula Patrol stars a group of animated aliens who travel through space, exploring and discovering science and astronomy along the way. The series also reinforces themes of tolerance and non-violence, according to Zula USA. Season 3 of the series is scheduled to premiere in summer 2008 with the first of 26 new episodes. It debuted on public television in the fall of 2005.
