While sales may not be what they once were in a market where outdoor toys, in general, have seen declining fortunes at the nation's toy retailers, it's hard to say a bad word about ride-on toys—except maybe that they take up a bit too much space in the garage.
Still coasting on a resurgence sparked by the Razor scooter at the turn of the millennium and further fueled by a growing demand on the part of parents for products that get kids to work up a sweat, the ride-on business this month moves back to the forefront as springtime temperatures warm up demand for toys that offer some much needed get up and go after a long winter of not getting up all that much.
The following are but several of the companies bringing to market new and interesting iterations of one of toyland's most timeless product categories.
