Collectible Cutie
One of several new additions to the collectible Baby Alexander line this year is Itty Bitty Birdies ($109.95), a 14-inch Asian doll with a soft body, vinyl hands and feet, brown eyes and black braids styled into pigtails and bangs. She is dressed in a pink and white linen blouse embellished with intricate embroidered birds, embroidered knit pants and pink suede slippers.

Chatty Ambassador
Multilingual Marie ($80) is a17-inch toddler doll for ages 3 and up that can speak in six different languages—French, English, Italian, German, Spanish and Dutch. Kids can record a message by pressing her right hand, then press her left hand to translate it and play it back. Available this fall, Marie features long hair and a soft body, and comes with a hair brush, notebook and pencil.

Bath Time Buddy
The Brunette Maxy Aquini ($59.99) is a 15-inch bath baby doll for ages 3 and up from German doll manufacturer Götz. She features sleep eyes, an articulated vinyl body and rooted hair that can be shampooed and blown dry. She wears a pink two-piece outfit plus matching headband, and comes with her own soft towel and bath squirter.

Realistic Role Play
The Real Loving Baby Cuddle & Coo dolls ($19.99) for ages 2 and up are the latest additions to the Little Mommy collection. Water Wonder
The redesigned Water Babies collection for ages 3 and up—water-filled dolls that replicate the warmth and weight of real babies—includes the 9-inch Newborn ($14.99, pictured) and the 13 inch baby ($24.99). Each doll comes with a funnel which parents use to fill it through a leak-resistant valve. Both sizes are available in Caucasian, African-American and Hispanic versions.
