WASHINGTON—Toy importer Santa’s Toy Corp., Los Angeles, is recalling approximately 9,000 units of its Western Rider push toy because surface paint contains excessive levels of lead.
The recalled push toy features a plastic horse with rider and a 20-inch long pole/handle. The rider wears red pants and a green shirt. The horse comes in various colors. Surface paint on the glove, shirt and pants of the rider contains excessive levels of lead, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The toys were made in China. They were sold at dollar and discount stores nationwide from February 2005 through February 2008 for between $2.50 and $3.
Santa’s Toy Corp. is advising consumers to return the toy to the store where purchased for a full refund. For additional information, contact Santa’s Toy Corp. (888) 726-8208 or e-mail the company at info@santastoycorp.com.
