NEW YORK—Kidrobot, the bi-coastal creator and retailer of limited edition art toys, apparel and accessories, will open a seasonal store in Chicago next month, its first foray into America's interior.
Located at 1573 North Milwaukee Ave., the stand-alone storefront will feature 1,100 square feet of vinyl art toys, apparel, jewelry and accessories. It will open on October 4 and remain in operation through December. The retailer promises “various surprise signings and events,” during the course of the store’s short lifespan.
"We are very excited to open a Kidrobot store in Chicago's Wicker Park/Bucktown area for the holiday season,” said Kidrobot CEO Cynthia Roe. “Chicago is an important city to Kidrobot's retail strategy, and has already been unwaveringly supportive of the brand."
The currently operates full-time stores in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Miami, plus a website at Kidrobot.com. Designer Paul Budnitz founded the company in 2002.
