KB cuts prices on 200 toys

PITTSFIELD, Mass.—KB Toys today unveiled temporary price reductions on more than 200 toys to $10 or less in its latest effort to allow consumers to “stretch their dollar in these challenging economic times.”
"Our guests have come to know they can always find exceptional bargains with our Super Value Program," said Andy Bailen, CEO of KB Toys. "Clearly, more consumers are looking for affordably priced gifts and that is why we also just took over 200 great toys and lowered their prices to $10 or less."
Among the reduced-price items are:
• Family games such as Are U Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, High School Musical Card Game, Spider-Man Operation, Leap Frog Dominoes, Yahtzee, Twister Moves and two dozen others, all for $8 each.
• Craft kits from Crayola, including KB’s entire stock of Crayola Color Explosion and Color Wonder Kits, all at $7 each.
• Select My Little Pony and Polly Pocket playsets, including My Little Pony Themed Ponies and Best Friends; and Polly Pocket Paw Spa, Pet Boutique, Fab-Tastic Fashions, all for $5 each.
• NFL and MLB action figures (1/18 scale), at $5 each.
• Select Fisher-Price preschool toys, including the Little People Zoo Train, Medical Kit playset, Barnyard Bowling and the 2-in-1 Toddler Tunes Puppy, each for $10.
• Select Hot Wheels and Matchbox playsets, including Metro City Police, Turbo Town, Pirate Island Adventure sets, at $10 each.
• Select beanbag plush, including Pokemon, Nintendogs, Winnie the Pooh and Wiggles designs, at $5 each.
This week KB Toys also added 25 items to its Extreme Value! assortment, a selection of “even lower prices” on select, popular Super Values from the likes Fisher-Price, Mattel, Hasbro and Disney. The specific products included in that program were not announced.
The retailer recently expanded its Super Value Program to include video games and DVD family movies and entertainment.
"Our expanded Super Value program has been a clear hit with our Guests," said Bailen. "These newly reduced toys, games and crafts along with our bargain priced video game and DVD movie selection offer even more exceptional value and are perfect for the entire family to enjoy."
