Maclaren names new prez, COO

SOUTH NORWALK, Conn.—Baby stroller maker Maclaren USA has appointed Dan Pennachio president and Paul Cuthbertson chief operation officer.
“Dan and Paul have proven themselves to be exceptional leaders in their field. I am confident that the combination of our premium brand, strong growth, continuous innovation and dynamic new leadership bring Maclaren to even higher levels,” said Bahman Kia, Maclaren’s chairman.
Pennachio previously served as president of competing infant stroller maker Bugaboo North America. His previous posts include executive positions at retailer The Limited and apparel producers Tommy Hilfiger USA and Polo Ralph Lauren.
Cuthbertson comes to Maclaren with a history of executive-level financial and operational posts to his credit, including CFO, COO and Director of Operations for Bugaboo North America.
Both will join Maclaren November 3. They replace Farzad Rastegar, Maclaren's owner and president, who will remain involved in the company but no longer be active in its day-to-day operations.
Maclaren has recently begun diversifying its product assortment to include organic skincare products and—in a line previewed at September's ABC Kids Expo—organic and clip-on toys.
