NEW YORK—The Toy Industry Association said a total of 750 buyers attended its 2008 Fall Toy Preview earlier this month in Dallas, a slight drop from the event's 2007 edition.
Among the registered buyers at 2008 Fall Toy Preview were 510 representing U.S. retailers and 240 international buyers from 30 nations. In 2007, a total of 775 buyers attended the event.
"Fall Toy Preview has firmly established itself as the 4Q toy industry preview, kicking off the toy trade event calendar," said Marian Bossard, TIA’s vice president, Meetings & Events. "This year's show in Dallas again succeeded in attracting the toy industry's major, long-lead retailers."
Next year’s Fall Toy Preview will be held in Dallas from October 6 to 9.
On October 23, the TIA’s philanthropic arm, the Toy Industry Foundation, delivered the toys donated by the Preview’s exhibitors to kids undergoing treatment at Dallas’ Children’s Medical Center. The retail value of the donated toys was not announced.
