HONG KONG—Kader Holdings, parent firm of toy train maker Bachmann Industries, has acquired fellow toy train producer Sanda Kan Industrial for $8.5 million, according to published reports.
In addition to Bachmann’s eponymous brands, Kader’s othe train-related brands include Williams, Graham Farish and Liliput. It also owns Tinco Toys, a manufacturer of plush and educational toys designed primarily for infants. Sanda Kan is primarily a contract manufacturer of toy trains that appear at retail under a variety of better known brand names, including Lionel, Life-Like Marklin, Walthers and Hornby.
Kader’s purchase was said to be an all cash transaction.
