NPD names EuroToys chief

PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y.—Market research firm The NPD Group has tapped David Pritchard to head its European toy market tracking business.
Pritchard, now vice president, NPD EuroToys, most recently served as a vice president in NPD’s Entertainment & Communications group and led product management for NPD’s U.S. Toys business. Previously he was director of NPD’s Digital Insights business.
Before joining NPD, Pritchard was a digital media consultant for Synacor; senior director for entertainment at Terra Lycos for music, TV, and film; and senior director of marketing at Wired Digital.
“David’s experience in the entertainment industry will be a tremendous asset as we continue to grow and evolve with the industry and help manufacturers and retailers navigate through these challenging times,” said Michel Maury, group president for NPD Europe.
Pritchard replaces Anna Scott, who is leaving the company in order to relocate to Brunei.
NPD’s EuroToys unit offers retail point-of-sale and consumer tracking for the toy markets of France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Poland and Portugal.
