Toys 'R' Us has deal for KB customers

WAYNE, N.J.—Toys "R" Us is offering holders of KB Toys gift cards the opportunity to receive a discount at any TRU store by handing over their KB card, the retailer said today.
"We're pleased to offer KB Toys shoppers this special savings opportunity," said Greg Ahearn, senior vice president of marketing and ecommerce for Toys “R” Us, U.S. "We also hope to familiarize KB Toys customers with the advantages of shopping at Toys ‘R’ Us, including our expert customer service and Rewards‘R’Us program, which offers added incentives for loyal customers to shop and save on our expansive selection of toys, games and electronics."
TRU’s “Gift Card Exchange Program” is offering KB Toys gift card holders a coupon for a 15 percent discount a single toy item sold at Toys "R" Us through Jan. 31, 2009.
KB Toys, which began going out of business sales at all of its stores last month, ceased honoring its own gift cards nationwide as of Jan. 12, 2009, as part of its wind-down process.
