Action inks Canadian distro deal

ORLANDO, Fla.—Action Toys, the toy-selling subsidiary of Action Products International, has appointed Unicorn Toys as its distributor for Canada.
"Further expansion of our international sales efforts is an important part of our task of rebuilding overall sales and profitability. In Unicorn Toys we have found an enthusiastic and determined partner for the distribution of our toys throughout Canada,” said Bob Muniz, Action Toys’ president. “We expect this to be a significant channel of sales revenue for us throughout the remainder of this year and beyond."
Missassauga, Ontario-based Unicorn was established in 2004 as a distributor of puzzle games and toys. The company employs 12 sales representatives across Canada and currently has approximately 500 independent toy and gift store account across the country.
Initial inventory is being shipped from Action’s distribution center in Florida. Future plans include direct shipments to Canada from Action's factories overseas, the company said.
Earlier this month Action Toys signed a distributor for the U.K. The company is in discussions with distributors for Asia, Africa, Europe, Scandinavia and South America.
