Primary Colors plans Animal Planet products

SILVER SPRING, Md.—Discovery Communications has signed paper products company Primary Colors for Animal Planet branded stationery, back-to-school and crafts and activity paper products.
Primary Colors plans to issue its Animal Planet products at retail in spring 2010. It will include note pads, journals and notebooks, address books, magnets, construction paper pads, doodle pads, sketchbooks, scribble pads, art framer pads, stickers, giant activity pads, three-ring binders, portfolios and pencil pouches. The products may be bundled together as gift sets with writing accessories, such as markers, crayons, pens, and pencils.
“We are looking forward to working with Primary Colors to bring the Animal Planet brand to a wide range of school, stationery and activity products,” said Elizabeth Bakacs, Vice President, Licensing, Discovery Commerce. “These products foster creativity and a love for learning. This exciting line allows consumers to bring the Animal Planet brand to life with products they enjoy in their everyday lives.”
A portion of the proceeds from the Primary Colors products will benefit the principal partners of R.O.A.R (Reach Out. Act. Respond), Animal Planet's national campaign that, together with leading animal organizations, leads the way in taking action and being a voice for animals.
The deal was brokered on behalf of Animal Planet by its licensing agent, the Joester Loria Group.
