Krusty The Klown thinks we're funny
October 17, 2007
Well, I guess it had to happen some time. The toy industry is now officially a punch line. On Sunday night, Krusty the Klown of the Simpsons was asked if he was capable of some particularly horrible act. He responded by saying something to the effect of: “If I can make toys in China that poison kids, I can do anything.” (I would have given the exact quote but I, surprisingly, did not expect to hear that from Krusty or any cartoon character for that matter and was not recording the show).
When you get to be a punch line it means that you have passed that invisible barrier between news and ridicule. OJ Simpson is there, Britney Spears is there, Larry “Airport Bathroom” Craig is there and now…we are there.
Does the TIA have a PR company working on the industry’s behalf and doing damage control? If they do, then perhaps they need to hire A NEW and hopefully MUCH BETTER ONE because we need a WHOLE LOT MORE HELP THAN WE ARE GETTING. Krusty the Klown is funny. An entire industry’s reputation being lampooned is not so funny. Help???!!!
