Virtual Worlds Conference 2008

These are very exciting times for the toy industry. We are seeing a bevy of great new products that combine the best of traditional play with computer and Internet virtual play. The result is toys that are greatly enhanced in play value.
I was therefore very pleased by the outreach the toy industry has received from the virtual worlds industry and specifically by Virtual Worlds Conference 2008, a show set to take place April 3-4 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. It will feature speakers from the toy, virtual and entertainment industries and should be a great place for anyone who is selling, developing or thinking about developing products that contain a virtual element.
They have asked me to moderate a panel discussion entitled: "Kids and Tweens: Why Virtual Worlds Are The New Saturday Morning TV" which will take place form 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM April 3. I have accepted the invitation and look forward to hearing what representatives from Nickelodeon, Walt Disney, Cookie Jar Entertainment and Zula USA have to say on the subject as much as the audience will.
