IPI plans song contest

PARSIPPANY, N.J.—International Playthings Inc. has announced a retail promotion spotlighting its Calico Critters of Cloverleaf Corners line of miniature articulated animal figures.
The Calico Critters Song Contest will encourage kids to write original lyrics to the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" based on IPI's Calico Critters. Grand prize winners in each of two age groups will receive an exclusive playset environment, the Calico Critters Department Store, a set with more than 200 accessories. Runner up prizes will also be awarded.
Calico Critters authorized retailers in the U.S. and Canada will have entry forms for the contest. Each retailer will select one local semi-finalist in each age group, with the final judging done by IPI. The contest will be open from March 21 to April 30. Winners will be announced on the Calico Critters Web site, www.calicocritters.com.
