EMERYVILLE, Calif.—LeapFrog Enterprises Inc. has tapped Hasbro executive Martin Pidel to oversee the electronic learning toy maker’s efforts to expand its international sales as executive vice president, international.
Pidel most recently was Hasbro’s vice president of international marketing. While at Hasbro, he served in a variety of roles including senior marketing positions in Europe. Prior to joining Hasbro, Mr. Pidel spent five years at Black & Decker in Germany and the U.K., where he worked in both product and brand marketing roles.
"Martin is a seasoned marketing executive who has worked in and around the consumer products industry for many years. He has broad leadership experience in our industry, and has a terrific track record of driving marketing strategy, product development and sales initiatives on a global basis,” says Jeffrey Katz, LeapFrog president and CEO.
According to Katz, international markets represent “a largely untapped opportunity for LeapFrog, and increasing our earnings from key markets around the globe is an important part of our strategic plan.”
